KGen's portfolio consists of modern, well-maintained generation plants that are well positioned to take advantage of the expected continuing recovery of the power generation business. KGen's assets are located near growing load centers within the SERC Reliability Corporation (SERC) and have transmission access to regions outside of SERC.
KGen's four combined cycle assets are clean sources of natural gas-fired generation, a preferred energy source across the country today.
Our plants began operations between May 2001 and June 2002. Our combined-cycle plants are maintained pursuant to long-term service agreements, or LTSAs. All of our Plants are fully operational with all required permits, transmission interconnections and gas transportation access. In addition, the use of standardized equipment in many of our plants creates economies of scale with respect to operations and maintenance, spare parts and capital equipment inventory.
KGen is committed to operating its plants in a safe and reliable manner.
